The Kawana Stained Glass Museum, located about 20 minutes by car from Ito Station on the JR and Izu Kyuko lines, is an enchanting museum featuring antique stained glass primarily from 19th-century Europe.

You can also enjoy live organ music in the chapel on the grounds. The museum can be explored in about an hour, so afterwards, we recommend relaxing for lunch or tea at the authentic Italian restaurant and café La Vita.

Izu Ichinokura

After enjoying stained glass, it's time to shop for souvenirs. Izu Ichinokura, located about 17 minutes by car from Kawana Stained Glass Museum, is a shop specializing in creative Western-style Japanese sweets.

In addition to traditional sweets like Kura Steamed Bun and Kura Anju with black sesame filling, they also offer Western confections. In the eat-in corner, you can enjoy Mont Blanc and gelato!

Izu Teddy Bear Museum

The Izu Teddy Bear Museum, located about a 6-minute drive from Izu Ichinokura, is based on the concept of The House of Teddy Bears, featuring a diverse collection of teddy bears.

In addition to encountering rare pieces such as the Teddy Girl, which is listed in the Guinness Book, there are also workshops for plush toys.

The tearoom offers brownies and café lattes adorned with teddy bears.

Admission to the museum is 1,500 yen for adults, but the tearoom, souvenir shop, and cookie shop can be accessed without a ticket!

In the hot season, the beach is also recommended. Here’s a 2-day, 1-night beach course that can be enjoyed using only public transport.

Day 1 Afternoon: Honke Maguroya Izu Kogen Main Store

Honke Maguroya, located about a 7-minute walk from Izu Kogen Station on the Izu Kyuko Line, is renowned for its exquisite tuna and seasonal local fish such as Inatori Kinmedai.

Popular menu items include the Special Head Toro Aburi Don Set, which features rare cuts of fish, and the Special Toro Aburi Zaman Don Set, which includes head toro, fatty tuna, and Inatori Kinmedai.

Additionally, the "Harmonica Salt Grilled" made from the fatty parts of bluefin tuna is highly recommended!

Once you've finished your meal, take a bus from Izu Kogen Station to Ohmuro Kogen 9-chome and head to Izu Craft House.

This is a glass workshop where you can enjoy experience classes in glassblowing, sandblasting, and making decorative glass beads, with a total of four courses available.

The experience times range from 15 minutes to 90 minutes, allowing you to choose a course based on how long you plan to stay! Admission is free, so you can also just browse or purchase products.

Day 1 Afternoon: Izu Shaboten Zoological Park

Izu Shaboten Zoological Park is located about 7 minutes by bus from Ohmuro Kogen 9-chome.

Here, you can encounter around 1,500 species of cacti and succulents, along with 140 varieties of animals.

Many of the animals roam freely, allowing for close encounters, and you can enjoy various interaction experiences, such as feeding squirrel monkeys and capybaras!

After finishing your visit to the zoo, take the bus back to Izu Kogen Station. From there, take the Izu Kyuko Line for about 30 minutes to Ito Station, where you can relax at a hot spring inn.

On the second day, it’s finally time for the beach! Ito Orange Beach is just a 3-minute walk from Ito Station, making it easily accessible from the hot spring town.

In the summer, it serves as a swimming beach with marine activities such as banana boat rides. During other seasons, we recommend leisurely strolling along the beach lined with palm trees, soaking in the tropical atmosphere!

Day 2: Amakoya Umikaisei

After enjoying time at the beach, let’s have a fresh seafood lunch.

Take the Izu Kyuko Line from Ito Station to Kawana Station, and after a 14-minute walk, you will reach Amakoya Umikaisei. Here, you can enjoy dishes made with luxurious ingredients like spiny lobster and turban shell at reasonable prices.

Recommended items include the seafood-laden Amako Sushi and Bouillabaisse. The view of Sagami Bay from inside the restaurant is also spectacular!

The conclusion of your trip should be shopping at Roadside Station Ito Marine Town!

Here, you can not only buy souvenirs but also enjoy restaurants, foot baths, and day-use hot springs — a well-equipped roadside station.

Additionally, there are sightseeing boats where you can see seagulls and fish swimming in the sea up close! Enjoy about 45 minutes of cruising.

To get there, you can take the bus to Marine Town from the Iruka-hama bus stop near Kaijo-tei, or return to Ito Station and board the Tokai Bus to Marine Town.

The day-use hot spring opens at 5:00 AM, so you can catch the sunrise before heading to the beach!

iZoo is about a 15-minute drive from the "Futatsubori Harvest Experience Farm," located in the Izu Inatori Onsen area.

Here, you can enjoy harvesting various types of mandarins, squeezing fresh juice, and making jam.

The entrance fee is 600 yen for adults and 500 yen for children, and you can eat the mandarins you pick on-site or take them home.

There is a free shuttle service from Izu Kyuko "Izu Inatori Station" or your accommodation, making a stay at an Izu Inatori Onsen hotel a great option for that day.

Here, you can observe animals like white tigers, giraffes, lions, and capybaras living in environments similar to their natural habitats.

Additionally, the park features an amusement area, a forest inhabited by dinosaurs, and a mini-golf area, allowing you to spend an active day.

This vast plateau is equivalent to about 26 Tokyo Domes in size, offering magnificent views of Sagami Bay, the Izu Islands, and the mountains of West Izu.

It is also famous as a filming location for dramas and is perfect for a stroll. After exploring the plateau, it is recommended to stay at the Izu Shuzenji Onsen, which is about an hour's drive away.

Shuzenji Rainbow Village, located about 8 minutes by car or 14 minutes by bus from Izu Hakone Railway’s Shuzenji Station, is a theme park where you can enjoy a village and gardens from around the world.

The park features a garden with 2,300 blooming rose bushes, a railway model museum, and shops that carry direct imports from Canada, allowing visitors to travel around the vast grounds by bus or train (SL).

You can also experience handmade crafts like traditional washi paper-making and spinning tops, making it a spot that the whole family can enjoy!

After about 40 minutes by car from Rainbow Village, you will arrive at Toi Gold Mine, which once boasted a gold production volume second only to Sado Gold Mine.

Currently, it has transformed into a tourist facility where you can explore the tourist mine and try gold panning, and it is beloved as a power spot in Toi.

If you're hungry, be sure to try the "Swordfish Tempura Bowl," which comes topped with an entire swordfish, at the restaurant within the facility.

Additionally, at the café Kin no Suna, you can find unique sweets like Pure Gold Soft Serve and Pure Gold Mounds Soft Serve, which is covered in gold leaf, guaranteeing a fun time for the whole family!
