Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival 2025 is an art festival that considers the connections between people and society through art.
Artists from both Japan and abroad will exhibit their works on the theme of Social Impact (cultural and economic revitalization, awareness of society).
Transforming Osaka into an International Art City
Through this event, the concept is to develop Osaka into an International Art City and Kansai into a region vibrant with art, making Osaka and Kansai an even more attractive city for art.
Just as Taro Okamoto's Tower of the Sun from the 1970 Osaka Expo remains in people's memories, this art festival is expected to serve as a new opportunity to showcase the charm of art to the world during the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

Chapter 1: Invitation to a Diverse World (Expo Venue)

Venue: 2025 Japan International Expo (Osaka-Kansai Expo) Future Society Showcase Project Art Expo Public Art Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival / EXPO PUBLIC ART
Within the Expo venue, the public art installation Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival / EXPO PUBLIC ART will be exhibited. The Expo venue, themed Designing a Future Society Where Life Shines, will offer encounters with artworks from around the world.

Chapter 2: Reflections on Humanity and Life (Osaka Culture Center, Tempozan)

A beautiful museum designed by architect Tadao Ando will host the exhibition Reshaped Reality, which questions what it means to be human. The exhibition focuses on hyper-realistic human sculptures, delving into the essence of humanity.

The exhibition Speculative Music / New Storytelling, curated by Yoji Sakuma, who received high praise in the previous art festival, will be held. This exhibition will explore the "stories" we create to transform the world for the better, from both contemporary art and entertainment perspectives.

In the Nishinari Area, in collaboration with the fashion brand NISHINARI YOSHIO based in this region, the exhibition Kissa Atariya by Production Zomia will be held at the Sanno Harmonica Nagaya.

Chapter 5: A City Where East Meets West and Cultures Converge (Senba Area)

In the Senba Area, the exhibition Re: Human - The New Conditions of Humanity, curated by Kota Kishimoto, will be held. It questions the essence of humanity amidst technological evolution, globalization, and shifting values.

Chapter 6: The Creative Economy and the Future of the Earth (Osaka International Conference Center)
The Osaka Prefectural International Conference Hall, designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa, will host Study × PLAS: Asia Art Fair. This international art event will be jointly held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea. The art pieces will not only be available for viewing but also for purchase.
South Korean actor and artist Ha Ji-won will also exhibit her art at the special exhibition.

Keihan Electric Railway Nakatsu Line Nakanoshima Station (Osaka International Conference Center) is right by Exit 2.
