Former Rikyu Nijo Castle
Built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1603, Nijo Castle has been the stage for many historical events, including the announcement of Tokugawa Yoshinobu's intention to return imperial rule to the emperor. Ninomaru Palace is full of sights, such as the corridor known as Uguisu-bari and the numerous sliding screen paintings by the Kano school. You can also enjoy the spacious castle grounds, including the gorgeous Karamon Gate and three gardens.
Once the tour is over, we will head to the Kyoto Imperial Palace by taxi.

Kyoto Imperial Palace
The current Kyoto Imperial Palace was used as the residence of the Emperor for around 500 years, from the Northern and Southern Court period through to the Meiji era, and many of the existing buildings were constructed in 1855 (Ansei 2).
In addition to the historical buildings such as the Shishinden, Kogosho and Gogakumonsho, there is also a tasteful garden where you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons.
