The patisserie "Éclat des Jours" opened in Toyosu, Tokyo in June 2020. "Éclat des Jours" is a coined word meaning "glorious days" in French, and was named with the hope that our sweets will accompany our customers on their special days and everyday moments, and add color to their memorable "glorious days." The concept of Éclat des Jours' sweets is "freshness," "melting texture," and "smoothness." Based on the techniques and flavors that owner chef Yohei Nakayama acquired through his training in France, we value textures that are familiar to Japanese people and easy to eat. We aim to bring out the maximum flavor of the ingredients themselves while adding contrast to simple compositions. Our goal is to be a comprehensive patisserie. We offer a wide range of products, including entremets (whole cakes), petit gateaux (individual cakes), baked goods such as buttery madeleines and cookies, breads such as baguettes and croissants baked in-store every morning, and chocolates and jams that decorate our display cases. In the future, we also plan to expand our product lineup to include small gifts for everyday use and for relaxing at home. While cherishing French traditions, we are always challenging ourselves with new flavors, and hope to remain a patisserie that is loved by our customers for a long time.

I went to a beer garden that was full of visitors.

Toyosu Beer Garden Guide | Summer Gourmet & Must-Try Sweets

I went to the "Beer Garden" held at Chikyakumanrai in Toyosu, Tokyo! It's a summer-only gourmet event, and the attraction is that you can enjoy a little bit of the limited-edition food and drinks at each shop with a 3,000 yen ticket. This time, I've compiled my impressions of the experience I actually visited and the recommended ways to enjoy it.

Event period: Friday, July 18th to Sunday, August 31st, 2025

Time: 15:00-20:00 (Last ticket sales are at 19:30)

First, go to the guardhouse. Ticket system & cash only

Toyosu Beer Garden Guide | Summer Gourmet & Must-Try Sweets

To enter the beer garden, you need to buy a 3,000 yen ticket at the "banya" near the entrance. Payment is only accepted in cash , so it's recommended that you have it ready in advance. This ticket works like a meal voucher that can be exchanged for food and drinks.

The set contents are as follows:

    3 drink tickets
    2 food tickets
    Complimentary beer: 1 glass

The first thing you do is take the ticket you receive to a participating store and exchange it for a menu item of your choice, making it feel like you're going on a little food stall tour.

The tickets are very cute, with a design based on the old Japanese currency, "Koban"! Koban are oval-shaped gold coins that were used during the Edo period and are often seen in Japanese period dramas and movies.

After purchasing a ticket, you receive an empty glass at the counter, place the glass on the beer server, press a button, and your complimentary beer is ready in no time. It feels like you're pouring it yourself, which is a bit fun.

Beer garden menu in English

When you purchase your ticket, you will receive a flyer listing the participating stores and menus for the beer garden ticket, but it is only available in Japanese.

Although each store has a menu in English, the information on which stores accept tickets is mainly in Japanese. If you are concerned about this, it is convenient to use a smartphone translation app. You can order smoothly by pointing at the photos and food samples in front of the store.

Sushi 3-roll set + highball

Toyosu Beer Garden Guide | Summer Gourmet & Must-Try Sweets

The first choice was the Tokyo 29 Sushi three-piece sushi set (tuna, salmon, and yellowtail).

All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and with every bite I thought "sushi really is the best."

It was served with pickled ginger and wasabi, but be careful as it was so spicy that it brought tears to your eyes if you put too much wasabi on it.

The drink that could be exchanged for the ticket was always a highball, but it had a crisp taste that brought out the flavor of the sushi, making it the perfect drink to go with it.

Takoyaki + Apple Cider Vinegar Sour

Toyosu Beer Garden Guide | Summer Gourmet & Must-Try Sweets

Our next stop was the popular Gindaco.

The biggest appeal of Gindaco's takoyaki is the unique texture, which is crisp on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. The crispy texture created by frying the takoyaki in oil is something you won't find at other takoyaki shops.

On this day, I chose Negi Tako.

This refreshing Japanese style dish features piping hot takoyaki topped with plenty of crunchy spring onions and dipped into the special tempura sauce served separately.

For drinks, I wanted something refreshing to drink in the heat, so I chose an apple cider vinegar sour. The soft acidity of the apple cider vinegar and the fizz of the soda were a perfect match for the fragrant takoyaki, refreshing my mouth after the meal.

Finish off with a matcha latte using a drink voucher

By the time we finished eating the takoyaki,

"I guess I don't need any more alcohol... I'm full and I have one drink ticket left. What should I do?"

In fact, most of the stores offer alcoholic drinks with the drink coupons. However, there are a few stores that offer non-alcoholic drinks. The one that caught my eye the most was Tabane Noshi's Matcha Latte.

"This would be fun to drink on the way home," I thought, and used my last ticket to buy it.

The bittersweetness of the matcha, the sweetness of the milk, and the sense of luxury of drinking it while walking made for a pleasant ending.

It takes about an hour to eat and drink quickly.

This time, it took about an hour from when we arrived to when we left, and we enjoyed sushi, takoyaki, and drinks and left feeling just right and satisfied.

You can enjoy a quick drink and a bite to eat while walking around, making it a perfect place to stop by between sightseeing or before your next appointment.

The variety of food is appealing

In addition to menu items such as sushi, takoyaki, and matcha latte, they also offer Japanese food such as fried chicken, sashimi, tempura, and fried horse mackerel. The lineup allows you to try a little bit of every flavor in a food stall-like setting, so you're sure to find something that catches your eye.

The food court is a comfortable place to eat.

All beer garden menu items are available for take-out.

The outdoor table seats have a nice atmosphere, but if you want to spend your time in a cool and comfortable environment, we recommend the food court on the third floor. You can bring the food and drinks you buy there and eat them there. Of course, you can also enjoy the menu items you buy at the stores on the first and second floors in the food court.

It was still light outside at 6pm and the humidity was still there, but the air-conditioned food court was very comfortable.

There is also a self-service water server, so you can hydrate yourself. If you want to relax and enjoy your meal in a cool place with a drink in hand, this is the place for you.

Tips for enjoying a beer garden that attracts many customers

Tickets can only be purchased with cash

・Target menu items are determined by each store

・Beer garden information leaflets are only in Japanese (translation apps are useful)

・It's muggy even in the evening, so it's best to use the food court on the third floor.

・4 drinks and 2 food items for 3,000 yen is good value!

For those of you who crave something sweet afterwards.

Do you ever suddenly crave something sweet after a meal?

Feeling a little tipsy from the beer, you may feel like eating something cold and sweet. Chikakumanrai also has things like ice cream and shaved ice. But if you've come all the way to Toyosu, why not end your day with a memorable dessert?

Our recommendation is Éclat des Jours located in LaLaport Toyosu.

Éclat des Jours is open until 8 p.m., so if you finish your beer garden at 6 p.m., you can easily stop by to pick up some sweets. It's only about 10 minutes by train, so it's just the right distance to enjoy the afterglow of the beer garden while heading off to your next sweet treat.

A wide selection of sweets to eat in the summer!

Toyosu Beer Garden Guide | Summer Gourmet & Must-Try Sweets

The shop is lined with cakes that use plenty of tropical fruits, perfect for summer. The cakes have a light taste that fills your mouth with the sourness and sweetness of the fruit, such as tarts made with plenty of tropical fruits and a refreshing cake made with layers of pineapple mousse and passion fruit puree and finished with macarons.

Take-out is also available. The cold storage measures are perfect.

There's no need to worry. At Éclat des Jours, they pack your takeout with ice, so you can carry it around for 20 to 30 minutes without worry. It will easily last the journey to your hotel.

We recommend enjoying it as a "late-night treat" in the cool comfort of your hotel room.
