Sapporo Grand Hotel is a hotel about a 10-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station. On rainy or snowy days you can stay dry by using the underground walkway known as the "Chikaho" (Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walkway) that connects the station to the hotel.

This long-established hotel, founded in 1934, exudes a classical and elegant atmosphere. It consists of three buildings, including one that houses shops such as a boutique, a wedding hall, and a Starbucks Coffee.

There are three restaurants in the hotel where you can have breakfast, but we recommend the Northern Terrace Diner, which offers a Western–Japanese buffet with 90 dishes that make use of Hokkaido ingredients.

You can fully enjoy a wide variety of Hokkaido cuisine, including the rare Tarako from Kiritappu/Torajohama in Shiraoi, Obihiro’s specialty butadon (pork bowl), and for dessert, soft-serve ice cream made with Hokkaido milk.

5. JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo: Choose From 40 Buffet Menu Items

JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo is a hotel with outstanding access directly connected to JR Sapporo Station. Because you can leave luggage before check-in and after check-out, it’s perfect for those who want to make the most of their time in Sapporo.

There are two restaurants in the hotel where you can have breakfast. Among them, we recommend SKY J, where you can enjoy a Japanese–Western buffet using Hokkaido ingredients along with views from 150 m above ground.

About 40 dishes are offered daily, including a "seafood bowl" where you can top with salmon and salmon roe (ikura), and Hokkaido-produced cheeses. Note that preschool children can dine for free.

On the hotel’s 22nd floor, there is also a spa facility, Praublanc, which guests can use at a discounted rate. It’s a nice option to relax in the natural hot spring and sauna while enjoying a panoramic view of Sapporo.

Hotel Prelia Sapporo, about a 3-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station, is a hotel characterized by an elegant, natural atmosphere typical of Sapporo.

Breakfast can be chosen from two types. You can dine at the hotel's restaurant, or use a breakfast voucher at a partner restaurant outside the hotel to enjoy seafood dishes such as a seafood donburi.

For in-hotel breakfast, a buffet using seasonal Hokkaido ingredients sourced from partner farms is offered so guests can enjoy the flavors with all five senses. Local specialties such as lamb dish "jingisukan" and Hokkaido-style fried chicken "zangi" are served on a rotating daily basis.

Breakfast is served in a buffet style with a rich selection of about 60 dishes. You can enjoy carefully prepared dishes that use Hokkaido ingredients personally selected by the chefs who visit production sites.
