Cyalume Glow Sticks: Get One to Enjoy Concerts of Your Favorite Idol!
It's customary for concert-goers to bring Cyalume glow sticks to their favorite idols' performances. As many likely know, these fluorescent sticks are a must-have when livening up the atmosphere at live shows. Read on to learn about the best Cyalume sticks for performances!
What Are Cyalume Glow Sticks?
It's common for concert-goers to bring glowsticks to concerts performed by their favorite idols. These sticks contain a chemical light known as Cyalume (*1). As many may know, these sticks are a must-have item when livening up the atmosphere of live shows.
A dark concert hall illuminated by glowing Cyalume sticks is a magical sight! The crowd also looks united, with each concert-goer clutching a glowstick and waving it in unison.
*1 Cyalume: chemical light sticks produced by Omni Glow Corporation. "Cyalume" is the trademarked name for these chemiluminescence sticks that are popular at concerts in Japan.
Where Can You Buy One?
You can find Cyalume sticks in the party goods section of Don Quijote, TOKYU HANDS, and LOFT. We recommend heading to the Don Quijote store in Akihabara to pick among various Cyalume sticks. You'll have no problem finding your favorite one.
Additionally, you can buy them online at Amazon or Rakuten Ichiba.
Which One Should You Buy?
Upon visiting one of the stores above, you'll see various glow sticks by several manufacturers. This article will introduce a standard Cyalume stick called the Lumica Light.
There are two types of Lumica Light available. Firstly, there's the Daisenkou stick that glows between five to 15 minutes. Although the duration is short, the light is very bright.
Alternatively, the regular type glows for hours on end but is noticeably less bright. The glow stick stays illuminated for around six to 12 hours.
While the regular type retails for around 180 yen, the Daisenkou costs about 150 yen. The price differs from store to store, but both are reasonably priced.
Which Color Should You Buy?
Now, you may be wondering which color glow stick to choose.
If the idol group assigns colors to its members, we recommend choosing the color of your favorite idol to bring to the concert. Occasionally, some songs even have a signature color.
For example, orange is assigned to the song "Orangelium" by the Japanese idol group Dempagumi.inc. Enthusiastic fans often wave orange glow sticks for this song during live performances.
While thinking about your favorite idol group or songs, you'll have fun choosing various colored Cyalume sticks before the concert begins.
When Should You Wave the Glow Sticks?
Once the concert begins, you can immediately light up your glow sticks.
We recommend choosing the regular type if you want it to keep glowing until the end of the show. However, if you want to dazzle brightly for a short duration, you should purchase the Daisenkou. This would be perfect to use during your favorite idol's solo performance.
Of course, we think having both glow sticks on hand is best to use for different occasions.
Please be aware that some concerts may ban Cyalume sticks because it interferes with the stage show.
In Conclusion
After purchasing concert tickets, why not bring some Cyalume sticks to cheer up your favorite idol member? In addition to creating a festive atmosphere, you'll feel like an active participant while lighting up the concert hall with other fans!
