Chofu Garden was once the site of the family residence of Nishi Yukinaga, a high-ranking vassal to the head of the Mori clan, during Japan’s Edo era.
Situated on the ridge of a low-lying mountain, the focus of the garden’s 31,000㎡ grounds is its pond, surrounding which are a tea house, drawing room and summer house, and it retains its tranquil atmosphere to this day.
Chofu Garden is also a natural beauty hot-spot, featuring a variety of plant-life including Lotus, Cherry blossom, Pine, Rhododendron, Sweet Osmanthus, Maple and Japanese Iris, as well as boasting a waterfall and a brook flowing towards the pond. Whatever the season, the garden’s indisputable beauty and calm make it well worth visiting.

In early April each year, cherry blossoms, tulips, and other flowers create a wonderful mix of colors with the Kanmon Strait in the background.🌸

Akama Shrine is beautiful vermillion shrine locate seaside part of Shimonoseki city.
"Miminashi Hoichi" the main character of famous Japanese tale is enshrined in this shrine.
Another point of this shrine is that this location is very close to battlefield of "battle of Dannoura", which is one of the most important battle in Japanese history.
Since Emperor who died in this battle is also enshrined, Akama Shrine is must visit place for history fans of this era.
