Tokyo Metro's Hachiko 100th Anniversary Tickets
Many people have been deeply moved by the story of the loyal dog Hachiko who waited every day in front of Shibuya Station for his master to return. This Akita dog is now one of the famous canines both within the country and across the globe.
Hachiko was born in November 2023 in Akita's Odate City, and this year marks his 100th anniversary. To honor Hachiko, Tokyo Metro is launching the Hachiko 100th Anniversary Tickets.
These limited edition tickets are a special version of the Tokyo Metro 24-Hour Ticket.
Whether you have found inspiration in Hachiko's narrative or if you possess an affinity for railways, this extraordinary commemorative item is not to be missed!
Tokyo Metro started selling the Hachiko 100th Anniversary Tickets individually on November 12, 2023. These tickets can be purchased at Shibuya Station and Omotesando Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.
Additionally, these tickets are available for both adults and children. If you buy both types together, you'll receive them in a special paper cover.
The paper cover showcases different designs on the front and back pages. Inside, you will find short stories about Hachiko and messages from the Shibuya Stationmaster.
The back page features an illustration of the dog looking at the departing train, along with adorable paw prints. Furthermore, the scenic illustrations and train drawings inside were exclusively created by the staff of Shibuya Station for this project!
The Tokyo Metro 24-hour ride ticket is a convenient and cost-effective option for travelers exploring Tokyo's various stations. With the release of these special edition tickets, they hold significant commemorative value. Make sure to act quickly and secure your tickets!
