A brewery called ``f winery'' has been opened in a location overlooking Kobe Port. Wines made from grapes purchased from various regions can also be enjoyed in-store. Would you like to have a toast while looking out at the sea with some snacks that go well with your wine?

Making wine that makes the most of the individuality of grapes

``F Winery'' is located just a short walk from Shinki Bus's articulated bus ``Port Loop'' from Shin-Kobe Station or Sannomiya Station and get off at the Shinkocho stop. It is located on the 1st floor of the Felissimo building, Stage Felissimo, on the sea side.

On the second floor of the same building is the Felissimo Chocolate Museum, which is themed around chocolate and cacao, and is a popular tourist spot, especially on holidays.

A small urban winery was built in such a place. The concept is ``an urban winery that aims to create unique wines while valuing encounters with people,'' and holds tasting events and wine-related workshops from time to time.

The brewing area where wine is made has seven tanks, and can produce up to 20,000 bottles of wine per year, equivalent to a full 750ml bottle. As we are a small brewery, everything from brewing the wine to bottling, labeling, and packaging is done by hand.

In order to be locally produced for local consumption, we also purchase from vineyards in Nishi Ward and Kita Ward, Kobe City.

We also purchase grapes from various regions such as Hokkaido, Yamagata, Nagano, Osaka, and Australia, and we focus on creating wines that bring out the individuality of each grape by valuing the goodness of each grape.

From fall 2022, we have started making wine in wooden barrels. They plan to produce approximately 1,400 bottles of wine in two barrels.

A unique way to enjoy wine at ``f winery'' is to be able to compare wines made from tank-brewed and barrel-brewed grapes of the same variety.

Enjoy wine and light snacks at the attached stand area.

At the stand area attached to the brewery, you can drink the wine made here. The interior is surrounded by glass and has an open and bright feel, allowing you to enjoy wine in a casual atmosphere.

A popular item on the menu is the ``F Winery 3 Types of Brewed Wine Comparison Set'' (1,200 yen). You can choose your favorite three wines from the menu, so you can try them out by telling the staff your favorite flavor and aroma.

In addition to wine, there are also snacks that go well with wine, such as marinades, potato salad, and quiche.

If you are having trouble deciding which one to choose, we recommend the ``F Winery Brewed Wine Mariage Set'' (1,600 yen). It comes with 3 types of wine and 3 types of mini plates, and you can enjoy snacks that go well with each wine.

From April 2023, we will start selling the original product ``Felissimo Chocolate Museum Original Almond Chocolat that goes well with wine'' (1,500 yen per box).

``Dark chocolate'' with cheddar cheese and black pepper goes well with red wine, and ``white chocolate'' with Gouda cheese and rosemary goes well with white wine.

At the store, ``Amand Chocolat to Enjoy with a Glass of Wine'' (900 yen per set), which includes a glass of wine and 5 pieces of Almond Chocolat, is also available on the menu.

Amando chocolate is a limited edition item that can only be purchased at ``f winery'' and ``felissimo chocolate museum,'' so make sure to buy it as a souvenir.

Enjoy your favorite wine at home

You can purchase your favorite wine in bottles at the store. You can also sample it, so try it little by little and find out that this is it! Please look for the one you think. The brightly designed label is very stylish and is recommended as a gift.

This "f winery 107" (3,080 yen) is a red wine made with the black grape "Muscat Berry A" developed in 1927 by Zenbei Kawakami, the founder of Niigata's "Iwanohara Vineyard."

When you bring your nose close to the glass, you can smell the soft grapes and it's absolutely delicious! It makes me feel that way. It doesn't have much of an astringent taste, and has a light taste that makes it easy to drink.

If you are looking for a wine with a refreshing taste, we recommend "f winery 113" (3,080 yen), which is made with Chardonnay. This wine has a refreshing citrus aroma and goes well with fish dishes such as sushi.

By the way, ``F Winery 903'' (3,850 yen) is made from the same grapes as ``F Winery 113'', aged in barrels. Please try comparing them and see what the difference is.

When you hear the word ``winery,'' you may have the image that only people who like alcohol go there, but ``f winery'' also serves coffee, latte, and soft drinks. Many people use it as a cafe, and the person in charge says, ``Even if you don't drink alcohol, please feel free to use it.''

On days when the weather is nice, we recommend taking out a bottle of wine and spending time at the counter in the public space in front of the store. It's also a stylish way to toast with wine while looking out at the sea.

Events such as wine tastings are held regularly, so if you are interested, be sure to check out the website.
