The most attractive feature of AEON Mall Tokoname is its close proximity to Chubu Centrair International Airport.
From the airport to the mall it's only three minutes by train. Passengers disembark at Rinku Tokoname Station (Meitetsu Airport Line). Then after passing through the ticket gates and turning left, you'll see the sign for AEON Mall Tokoname.

In honor of the city, you can see a giant maneki neko figurine at AEON Mall Tokoname. It waits for visitors at the first floor entrance to the restaurant street, Tokoname Noren Gai.
This is one of the world's largest maneki neko. It always attracts the attention of people passing by.
This has become a popular photo spot, and every day many people enjoy taking pictures with their smartphone in one hand.
In front of the figurine, feline paw prints on the floor indicate where you should stand when taking a picture. So anyone will be able to take some instagrammable photos!
Right beside the maneki neko you can have a hands-on experience decorating your own maneki neko. On a completely white maneki neko model, participants can apply their desired colors (see photo above).

Go-Kart Circuit: Feel Like a Real Race Driver!
At Seaside Circuit, visitors can enjoy go-karting on an authentic race course.
Especially popular among families with children are the kids go-karts. These allow children at least three years of age to also join in on the fun! There are also two-seater go-karts which we recommend for couples.
Before going for a spin around the circuit, an instructor will politely explain everything, so even first-timers can have a worry-free experience. Participants will undoubtedly be able to have a safe and enjoyable ride.

Wonder Jump is a 17 X 24 meter-sized large trampoline. Kids love it and it's also popular with adults because it offers a good amount of exercise. Groups of children or adults and even parents and their kids can have plenty of fun.
There are also basketball hoops and a diving board so this is a good opportunity for challenging yourself. Please try the trampoline, something you don't usually have the chance to do.
Also popular is Climbing Tower The Rock (*), where you can climb up a seven-meter-high rock cliff, and Wonder Sky, a thrilling athletic course.
Wonder Sky (high adventure rope course) offers an easy course for youngsters three years old and up, all the way to a more challenging advanced course that's eight meters in height. Children and adults alike won't get tired of this activity which allows you to choose a course based on degree of difficulty and your age.
*Must be at least four years of age. Those who weigh less than 20 kilograms or more than 110 kilograms are not allowed to join.
Tokoname Hot Springs (Mago-no-Yu): Soothe Your Body and Soul
A hot spring facility called Tokoname Onsen Mago-no-Yu is located inside Wonder Forest Curio. It offers 12 different kinds of hot spring baths and two outdoor baths (rotemburo), so visitors can spend some relaxing and peaceful time here.
If you take a relaxing dip in the hot spring before boarding the plane for home, you might be able to reduce the fatigue that usually accompanies a long flight.

The restaurants at AEON Mall Tokoname also have a good reputation. On the first floor there's a restaurant area known as Tokoname Noren Gai, and on the second floor, shoppers can enjoy a casual meal at a food court called Food Forest.

Ohitsu Gohan Shirokujichu: Tasty Ochatsuke Using Dashi Stock!
Ohitsu Gohan Shirokujichu is a Tokoname restaurant in Tokoname Noren Gai. The shop proudly serves ohitsu (*) gohan, which uses glossy and sticky rice from Aizuwakamatsu City (Fukushima).
*ohitsu: A wooden container for keeping freshly cooked rice. It naturally adjusts the water content and prevents the rice from drying out (see photo below).
When you sit down at your table, they'll bring some fragrant katsuo (bonito) dashi stock, so before starting the main course give this soup a try.
The menu features seafood donburi, simmered fish, and even hamburger steak, not to mention the popular tempura dishes. All of these go perfectly with the ohitsu gohan.
As a final way to enjoy your meal, put some tempura or fresh seafood on your rice. Then pour dashi stock over top and also experience this dish as ochazuke (*).
Additional servings of dashi stock are complimentary. Top your dish with the desired amount of tempura and nori seaweed and you can create your own original ochazuke.
*ochazuke: A dish consisting of rice topped with green tea or dashi stock (see photo above).
Sugakiya: Nagoya's Famous Ramen Shop
Sugakiya is a chain ramen shop centered in Japan's Tokai Region. It's located on the second floor in Food Forest and is especially popular with families.
It first opened in Nagoya in 1946 and is now loved by people throughout the country.

Their standard ramen uses a Japanese-style tonkotsu (pork bone) broth. But they also have an extensive limited-time-only menu, so diners can look forward to encountering some new flavors whenever they drop in.
Ramen prices start at 430 yen (after tax), so being able to enjoy ramen at reasonable prices is also an attractive feature of the shop. For dessert, please try their popular ice cream or Japanese zenzai (red bean soup with mochi).
