Enjoy a meal at Toritsu Kasei's new treasure, Bistro Atchan

This time we will introduce Bistro Atchan, which opened on November 27, 2023, a 5-minute walk from Toritsu-Kasei Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line in Tokyo. A bistro that you wouldn't expect to find in Toritsu-Kasei!

"Bistro" is a French word meaning "a small restaurant that anyone can easily enter." Atchan... It sounds nostalgic and very easy to remember!

The restaurant's name reflects the thoughts of its owner and chef, Atsushi Sawada.

"I thought about various things, such as a cool alphabet or a four-character idiom, but in the end I decided on 'friendliness.' My name is Atsushi, and since I was a child I've been called 'Atchan,' so I thought it would be best to use that."

As the friendly name suggests, the interior of the restaurant is based on wood, creating a warm and homey atmosphere. Another attraction is the counter where the chef and customers can easily communicate with each other. Many customers also come alone. You can relax and enjoy your meal in this friendly restaurant.

"We've set the prices reasonable. We don't offer A5-grade Wagyu steaks or anything like that, but we use affordable ingredients and French-based techniques to create dishes that people can't easily enjoy at home, and that make them want to come and try our food."

From here, we will introduce Bistro Atchan's signature menu items!

White omelet rice

They use special eggs with lemon-colored yolks, which are fluffy and creamy! The sauce really brings out the flavor of the ingredients, and you can't help but feel the umami.

Duck burger

Hamburg steak made with minced duck. When a customer requested a hamburg steak, Sawada thought, "It wouldn't be interesting if I just made it normally," and so he came up with this menu item. Sawada values communication with his customers. He tries and errors every day, starting with casual conversations like, "I want to eat something like this, maybe it would be good if I did it this way."

Cabbage rolls

This is a very popular dish recommended by Sawada. Each and every item is made with care and love (it may not be available depending on the availability of cabbage and the season).

Retro pudding

The atmosphere is a little on the formal side, perfect for adults. The dessert menu is also available for take-out.

The drink menu is also extensive! They have wine, seasonal fruit cocktails, and more. Mr. Sawada loves Sapporo beer, so there is a beer server in the store.

As we use seasonal ingredients, our menu changes with the seasons.
