The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is an art spot loved by the people of Kanazawa that always brings joy and surprises. The delicate and beautiful paper cutting works of world-renowned paper cutting artist Ayumi Shibata are all handmade. She was selected for the "World Craft Triennale" at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in 2019, and from 2020 she has been producing and supervising the stage art for Ryoko Moriyama's concert tour, all of which are hand-cut. In 2022, she will be creating the decorative exhibit "Miss Dior's Garden" with paper cutting works at the "Christian Dior, Couture of Dreams" exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.

The theme of this exhibition is "The workings of life and all things in the universe," and it is composed of a story in seven chapters. From the super-large works that reveal the space of the forest to the intricate works that confine a microcosm in a picture book or a small bottle, the more you look at them, the more you will sigh at the grandeur and delicacy of the works. The fantastical and divine space enveloped in the light that is carved out is one of a kind. The exhibition has been touring the country since 2022, and Kanazawa will be its last stop.
