What is "Uraja"?
Uraja is a festival held by the people of Okayama Prefecture based on the "Ura legend," the origin of the demons that are passed down in Okayama Prefecture.
Other dancers, wearing oni makeup called "Ura Kesho", perform passionate dances in the city streets to the accompaniment of original music.
Participants wanted! Beginners welcome! Participants will receive a commemorative gift.
We are looking for dance groups for people who want to have the best experience on their trip to Okayama. A lecture will be given by staff at the venue on the day, so even those who are not confident in their dancing can participate with peace of mind!
Costumes and makeup will be provided, so please wear clothes that are easy to move in. Let's join us and make Uraja more exciting!
