About Silver Week in 2024

Silver Week refers to a large autumn holiday period in Japan that can occur depending on the arrangement of holidays in a given year.

In Japan, there are two holidays in September: Respect for the Aged Day and the Autumn Equinox Day. The date of the Autumn Equinox Day varies from year to year. Since weekdays that fall between holidays are also considered holidays in Japan, when Respect for the Aged Day and the Autumn Equinox Day align well, it creates a long holiday period.

Unfortunately, there will be no Silver Week in 2024. The next Silver Week will be in 2026. However, in 2024, there will still be two 3-day weekends from September 14-16 and September 21-23.
