Will There be Silver Week in 2024?

Silver Week is a major consecutive holiday in Japan during autumn that occurs when the national holidays of that year align in such a way that they create a long break.

In Japan, there are two national holidays in September: Respect for the Aged Day and Autumn Equinox Day. The date of Autumn Equinox Day varies each year. When Respect for the Aged Day and Autumn Equinox Day align favorably, it can result in a long consecutive holiday, as weekdays between national holidays are also considered statutory holidays.

Unfortunately, there will be no Silver Week in 2024. The next Silver Week will be in 2026. However, there will be two consecutive three-day holidays in 2024: from September 14 to 16 and from September 21 to 23.

In this next section, we’ll introduce noteworthy September 2024 events in Tokyo and nearby cities that are perfect for a day trip.

1. Moon Art Night Shimokitazawa 2024
