Casually stylish and a little more grown-up: Enjoy enchanting French cuisine at Bistro Mura

Hello. I'm Yuki Okuyama, a Nakano Tourism Reporter. I went to Bistro MURA, a French bistro in Nakano where you can enjoy carefully selected dishes in a casual atmosphere.

1 minute walk from the north exit of JR Nakano Station on the Chuo Line. Turn left after exiting the ticket gate, then turn right at the end of the road. Cross the crosswalk along the mural in the Nakano Station East-West Passage.

Continue walking along Nakano-dori Street and you will see a sign with a French flag just above a chain of Tendon restaurants.

Found it quickly!

Once you find the store sign, take the elevator at the back to the third floor.

The person we spoke to this time was staff member Kotaro Wakatani.

Wakatani says, "We can accommodate a wide range of events, from small groups to groups of several dozen people. We welcome welcome and farewell parties and birthday parties, as well as events like weddings and coming-of-age ceremonies." The interior of the restaurant is cozy and lit by sunlight during the day and pendant lights at night, creating a mature atmosphere.

Wakatani says, "The owner is a chef who trained in France, and he is committed to serving homemade food. I would like you to try the duck and lamb, which are prepared by a chef who is certified as a Maitre Canardier, a qualification for duck cooking, which only 100 people in Japan hold." This time, I ordered the seven-course "Satisfying Plan Including the Specialty Quiche and Roast Pork with Two Hours of All-You-Can-Drink."

On the left is roasted young chicken stuffed with domestic Koshihikari rice. The chewy rice and fragrant chicken are a hearty meal. On the right is roast pork baked with herb breadcrumbs. Juicy meat juices overflow when you put it in your mouth. Each slice is very filling and very satisfying!

The specialty of the shop is freshly baked quiche. The fluffy and soft texture of the authentic French style goes perfectly with the crispy pie crust!

Bacon and organic leaf green salad. A dish with a delightful crispy texture of fried bacon.

These spicy French fries go perfectly with both meat and fish. They have just the right amount of spiciness so you won't be able to stop eating them.

Today's dessert is cheesecake. A rich, well-chilled cake coated in a sweet and sour berry sauce.

Wakatani: "We have a wide range of customers, from families to students to working adults. We aim to create a relaxed atmosphere, and we hope that people will come here to enjoy a special time, whether it's celebrating a birthday or anniversary."
