Naruto City in Tokushima Prefecture serves as the eastern gateway to Shikoku, connecting it to the Kansai region and being approximately three hours away from Kansai International Airport.
Naruto City has a diverse range of nature, with both the sea and the mountains, and there are plenty of tourist attractions and activities to experience, such as the Naruto Whirlpools, one of the world's three largest tides, as well as the Awa Odori dance and the pilgrimage route. Roadside Station "Daikyu no Sato" Product Center

During World War I, the Bando POW camp was built in Hinoki, Taima-cho, Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, and on June 1, 1918, German prisoners of war performed Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in its entirety for the first time in Asia and Japan, hence the name "Daikyu no Sato." Daikyu no Sato is a roadside station that combines a local product center, the Naruto City German House, and the Kagawa Toyohiko Memorial Museum. The souvenir shop has a wide selection of local specialties and Tokushima souvenirs. There is also a gelato and snack corner that uses local specialties. The building that houses the shop was relocated from part of the barracks (barracks) of the Bando POW camp, and is registered as a tangible cultural property of the country.

There are various theories about the heart-shaped island, but one is that in ancient times, when the country was still small, Emperor Jimmu, surveying the country from a mountaintop, wrote that the country was "like two dragonflies mating." The shape of the land resembles two mating dragonflies (heart-shaped), and Naruto is considered an important place in the Manyoshu, so it is said that "there must be a heart-shaped landform somewhere in Naruto." We hope that the heart-shaped island of Kagamishima will become a peaceful scenic spot. Furthermore, Kagamishima is the site of the Ryugu Festival (a Shinto ritual to pray for safety at sea and a good catch) held once a year, and as it is revered and cherished as a sacred place, landing on the island is prohibited. Furthermore, the area around Kagamishima is a thriving fishing area, with many aquaculture rafts and fishing rafts, and frequent boat traffic. Kitanada Sea Station was designated as the first sea station in Tokushima Prefecture. It is a facility that can be accessed from either land by car or sea by pleasure boat. With safety as its motto, it handles fresh fish landed off the coast of Kitanada. It also stocks a wide range of processed products such as dried fish, as well as souvenirs unique to Tokushima. At the adjacent Kitanada Fisheries Association Direct Delivery Freshly Delivered Restaurant, the set meals featuring freshly caught seafood are popular. You can enjoy the bounty of Tokushima, which is rich in nature, to your heart's content.
