At the fool of Mt.Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture, about 90 minutes by high-way bus or train from Tokyo. Fuji Kanko Travel, located in Lake Kawaguchiko Town, has planned and implemented small-group guided landing-type day tours for Japanese tourists, and has been well received by many customers.

Taking advantage of this know-how, now that immigration restrictions have been eased, we are holding this tour so that foreign visitors visiting Japan can feel more deeply familiar with Japanese culture.

The tour is guided by an English-speaking guide, and takes a walk around the Oshino Hakkai, a natural monument and one of the Mt. Fuji Component Parts of World Heritage. At "Toenji", which is a 5-minute walk from Oshino Hakkai, you will listen to a sermon from the chief priest, and then experience Zen meditation. Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and face your heart in silence.

After the Zen meditation, you will visit the Watanabe Residence, the oldest surviving private house in Oshino Village, built in the latter half of the 18th century, and see the important weapons and books of the time at the Hinokibayashi Museum. At the Hannoki Shokudo located on the same premises, you can enjoy a tour-original set of Yamanashi's local cuisine, including "Houtou" and "Rainbow trout grilled with salt" grown in the snowmelt water of Mt. Fuji. After lunch, you will have about an hour of free time to explore the area before returning home.

This tour offers a chance to refresh yourself through the deep and clear mysterious pond "Oshino Hakkai Strolling" and experience Japanese Buddhist teachings through "Zazen." All the guides are English-speaking, so you can participate without any worries, even if you do not understand Japanese at all.

Oshino Hakkai

Shinnasho River

It is a class A river that is also one of the sources of the Katsura River, and you can see the superb view of Mt. Fuji.

In spring, about 600 Someiyoshino cherry trees bloom along the river.

Toenji Temple

Toenji Temple, which was built as a dojo for Mt.Fuji training during the Heian period, is a branch temple of Hieizan Enryakuji Temple.

Oshino Sengen Shrine

This shrine was built 1200 years ago and enshrines the "Sanjinso" wooden statues of Konohanasakuya-hime-no-Mikoto, Takagai, and Inukai, which are designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan.

Museum "Hinokibayashi"

The Watanabe House, which was built in the latter half of the 18th century and is the oldest existing thatched roof house in Oshino Village, is now open to the public as a museum.
