Highlights: Let's Enter the World of Magic!
Next, we'll escort you into the magical world of Harry Potter!
The Great Hall in Hogwarts Castle
First up is the Great Hall. This is where Hogwarts students spend much of their school life.
The gigantic hourglass clock, the sorting hat... The school hall where Harry and his classmates play their roles is now before your very eyes!
The costumes worn by characters in the movie are also on display. It feels like you're attending the official opening of the school year at Hogwarts.
Next, the Gryffindor Tower makes its appearance. You'll get a better understanding of what the dormitory is like here.
Each student's bedroom is decorated with their favorite ornaments. For example, Ron Weasley displays a crest featuring his beloved Quidditch team (Chudley Cannons).
Platform 9¾
Speaking of Harry Potter, you'll remember the train taking students to school―the Hogwarts Express. At Studio Tour Tokyo, there's even a Platform 9¾ reproduction!
The steam locomotive displayed here is an actual train that carried passengers in England. It was taken out of active service and brought to Tokyo. When you look inside the train cars, you can see a variety of scenes that were in the movie.
At Studio Tour Tokyo, the Fantastic Beasts story―where the main characters take a train to Munich, Germany―has also been re-created. This is a must-see for fans of the Fantastic Beasts series!
Diagon Alley
You can also see a reproduction of the wizarding shopping street: Diagon Alley.
There are many shops here, including Gringotts Wizarding Bank and Ollivander's Shop where magic wands are sold. This spot is perfect for taking some memorable photos.
The Ministry of Magic
The Ministry of Magic, which oversees the magical community of Great Britain, is an organization that plays a key role in both Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts series.
For no additional charge, visitors can experience the scene where wizards travel from large fireplaces by using floo powder. This glittering powder allows wizards to travel through a network of wizarding fireplaces. Make sure your friend records this on video!
Visitors to Studio Tour Tokyo can also see the "Magic is Might" statue, built after Lord Voldemort occupied the Ministry of Magic.
You'll see many scenes from the movie, including the offices where the staff of the Ministry of Magic work.
There's even a reproduction of 4 Privet Drive, where Harry lives.
The Volkswagen that appears in the movie is also on display here.
This is the Knight Bus, which serves as transportation for the wizards.
Gourmet Cuisine Perfect for Sharing on Instagram!
At Studio Tour Tokyo, you can even sample Butterbeer: the magical world's famous beverage. In addition to the world's largest Butterbeer bar, there are five eating areas.
The Butterbeer mugs are great for collecting and can be purchased as souvenirs! You'll also want to take a photo of the Hedwig Cake before taking a bite!
Souvenirs Galore!
There's a big souvenir shop at Studio Tour Tokyo.
The shop has a full selection of magic wands on which you can have your name engraved. There are also some cool-looking robes.
There are many interesting goods, including anime-inspired biscuits, only available in Japan. This spot is ideal for picking up all your favorite souvenirs!
Access to the Harry Potter Studio Tour
There are essentially two ways to access Toshimaen Station, the nearest station to Studio Tour Tokyo.
From Shinjuku Station, you can get there in about 20 minutes via the Toei Oedo Subway Line. You can also board the Seibu Railway Line at Ikebukuro Station, then transfer at Nerima Station to access Toshimaen Station.
In conjunction with the grand opening of Studio Tour Japan, Seibu Railway has decorated some of its station platforms and train cars with Harry Potter images to celebrate this event. Be sure to take a closer look if you're in the area!
For the Toei Oedo Subway Line, please take Toshimaen Station's A2 Exit and turn left. As you proceed along this path, you'll see Toshimaen Station Square.
Please keep going straight, using the decorative banners as a guide.
After walking down this gentle slope, please continue walking for about three more minutes.
You'll see a large poster on the left-hand side. Turn left here to arrive at Studio Tour Tokyo!
