Latest update :

This is a notice from TheMana Village, a beautiful resort hotel in Cape Ashizuri, Tosashimizu City, Kochi Prefecture. This time, we would like to introduce our proud whale and dolphin watching plans in detail, especially for those who are interested in Japan's nature and resorts.

Kochi's sea charm: Kuroshio current and whales

Tosa Bay, surrounded by Kochi Prefecture, benefits from the Kuroshio Current. This warm water stream is famous for attracting many whales and dolphins, and you can see a wide variety of whales and dolphins. Among them, the most representative are Bryde's whale, common dolphin, pilot whale, and southern pilot whale.

The Bryde's whale, which is particularly commonly seen, is attracted to Kochi's Kuroshio Current and lives here all year round. For this reason, the encounter rate off Cape Ashizuri is incomparably higher than in other areas.

Whale watching experience

The appeal of TheMana Village's whale watching tours lies not only in the guaranteed encounters with whales and dolphins, but also in the whole experience. As you set sail on a local fisherman's boat, you'll feel the fresh sea breeze with spectacular ocean views all around you. Then, follow the instructions from onboard and look for whales and dolphins. One day, we encountered many schools of Bryde's whales. The participants were left breathless by the graceful way they swam.

Furthermore, during the tour, we also encountered a large pod of dolphins . Their joyful swimming looks like a scene from a movie. Sharing such precious moments is what makes tours at TheMana Village so special.

There are two beautiful things in this world. The first is the buildings and townscapes that are based on the history and culture that mankind has built up over time. The other is nature, untouched by mankind. We will explore the world and seek out what is still sleeping in it, what is not valued. We deliver to people all over the world as a work of art that fascinates the heart.
