The World of Miniature Photography Artist Tatsuya Tanaka
Tatsuya Tanaka is a miniature photography artist who has been consistently sharing his miniature works titled MINIATURE CALENDAR on Instagram since 2011.
He transforms everyday objects into amusing and clever scenes that bring a smile to the viewer's face.
In his works, round glasses become bicycles and soft ice cream becomes a wedding gown. He also incorporates wordplay into his works, all labeled with witty titles.
Tatsuya Tanaka's 2024 Exhibition in Tokyo
Tokyo's famous department store Nihonbashi Takashimaya is hosting the Tatsuya Tanaka: MINIATURE LIFE MITATE MIND exhibition until August 28, 2024.
In this exhibition, approximately 160 miniature works by Tatsuya Tanaka are categorized into seven thematic areas: HOME, FORM, COLOR, SCALE, MOTION, LIFE, and WORLD based on his concept of imitation.
Additionally, there are large-scale works on display that depict popular picture book characters and serve as photo spots, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of scene imitations in miniature form!
Highlights of the Exhibition
This exhibition has already taken place in Seoul, South Korea, attracting about 190,000 visitors. It is now making its first appearance in Japan.
All works are open for photography! While enjoying the exhibition, visitors can experience the feeling of being a miniature photographer.
Approximately 160 miniature works will be exhibited in Japan for the first time. Experience Tatsuya Tanaka's miniature world by taking photos as if you were a miniature doll.
