Toilets that worth a visit - for classy ladies & mothers
Toilets that worth a visit - for classy ladies & mothers
Auto-opening toilet covers, camouflage flush sound buttons, ssand wash-lets... it will take forever to list out every single merit of using a Japanese toilet. It's absolutely one of the most praised inventions from this country, we swear. This time we are going to show you some of the most advanced toilets that Japan takes pride in.
Ladies, are you ready? THIS is where you should go if you want to experience the ultramodern space more than just a restroom.
Gorgeous Shibuya Hikarie is worth a visit
Hikarie shopping mall in Shibuya has become the latest hit since it opened in 2012. "ShinQs" is the name for its Ladies' shopping zone and that is where "the toilets" are located. To be exact, this space is not "toilets"--- they call it "Switch rooms". Every floor has their own "Switch rooms" with different concept for each.
Tender lights, soothing sounds, and aroma scents.
The female staffs from Tokyu Shopping Mall(famous mall-chain) and Design Studio wish to create rooms that "the adult ladies can enjoy Shibuya even more". (In general, Shibuya is known as an area for teenagers and youngsters.) Their dedications are found in every little details. It's worth taking time just to visit!
Here is the "Switch Living Room" in B2 floor, planned to be convenient for mothers with her babies. Many preferable equipments for mothers are prepared inside, such as changing space in nursing rooms, toilet for kids, equipment for kids' measurement, and diaper vending machines.
It could be a bit weird, but fathers can also enter the "community space" which is just inside the entrance. Women visitors can use the facilities with their family nearby.
This colorful restroom on 4th floor is designed by with designers. As you can see, each private rooms has different designs on the wall. You can check out each design as if you're walking through a gallery... maybe? Our favorite is the pastel-colored one, the fourth from the left. It seems to be popular for its bright and relaxing visual.
Next -the one and only room that we cannot miss out- is on the 5th floor.
It's a space only open to people with "TOP & ClubQ Card" of Tokyu Shopping mall. Sofa, TV, cell phone charger, foot massage machine, and wide mirrors with lights are all available. What an ideal restroom for ladies!
To enter, you need to tap "TOP & ClubQ Card" on the card reader at the entrance. It might feel awkward at first, as it's like entering a VIP room.
But once you step inside, the gentle relaxing atmosphere will welcome you. Wi-Fi can be used here as well, so just behave like home... watch movies on your tablet while your feet are massaged.
These big mirrors light up when you get close. You might forget this place is right in middle of the noisy Shibuya Ward.
A must near Shijuku Station
If you are looking for another nice one in Shinjuku, restrooms at ODAKYU Hotel Century Southern Tower might suit you. This one on the 20th lobby floor is a space where you can enjoy the great view for free.
Of course, it's a nice view during the daytime too, but it will look more fabulous at night. What makes it look great is not only the huge railway station nearby...but you can also see the whole Shinjuku Ward and the Skytree radio tower (currently the tallest structure in Japan) lit up in distance.
The beauty outside the window will take your breath away.
By the way, you can also enjoy the view from this hotel's glass elevator.
What do you think of the highly-advanced restrooms in Japan? Check them out if you visit nearby!
