Have fun with the large playground equipment! We went to Shiroyama Park in Nakano, Tokyo

Nice to meet you. I'm Shioda, a Nakano Tourism Reporter. I've been living in Nakano for 8 years and have one son who attends nursery school.

This time we will be introducing Shiroyama Park. It can be found in a residential area about a 10-minute walk from the south exit of Nakano Station towards Nakano ZERO.

Surrounded by greenery and spacious! In fact, Shiroyama Park was the site of an agricultural experiment station established by the Tokyo Prefecture (now Tokyo) during the Meiji and Taisho eras. The area around Nakano Station, which is now lined with buildings and houses, was once farmland, and it's a great way to see the passage of time.

Just to the left of the entrance is a distinctive green tunnel. Go through the arch and enjoy a fairy tale-like feeling.

A large playground complex with three slides and athletic equipment. There's no doubt that children will have a blast the moment they see it. The slide on the left side can be climbed using ladders and ropes, so you can really move your body. On another day, when I went with my son, some elementary school kids were playing dynamically. On the other hand, the steps on the right side are lower, so even small children can play safely.

There are also sandboxes, swings, small slides, etc. There are also many benches, so it is convenient for when you want to take a short break.

There are also seasonal trees and flowers. There are many types of flowers, such as cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, golden osmanthus, ginkgo trees, and wisteria trellises. There are also many shady areas, which is nice.

I discovered some cute cherries growing on the cherry trees. I also saw swallowtail butterflies and ladybugs, so it would be fun to go looking for insects with your kids.

There are almost no steps in the park, so it is comfortable to walk around with a stroller. There is also water, vending machines, and toilets, so you can relax and unwind.
