The Institute for Nature Study, National Museum of Nature and Science is, as its name suggests, property owned by the National Museum of Nature and Science. It is a wonderful area for visitors to enjoy a nature-rich atmosphere while being in the center of the city. The spacious grounds include forests, ponds, rivers, and wetlands with various plant, insect, and bird inhabitants. Also, the daimyo Matsudaira Yorishige's mansion and garden was located here in the Edo Period. Ponds and trees from his garden can still be found here today.

How to Get There
The nearest station to the Institute for Nature Study is the JR Yamanote Line's Meguro Station. From Tokyo Station, you will get on the train bound for Shinagawa. From Shinjuku Station, you should get on the one going toward Shibuya. The ride is 20 minutes and 200 yen from Tokyo Station and 12 minutes and 170 yen from Shinjuku. From Meguro Station, it takes only about nine minutes to walk there.
