Visiting Roppongi's Amazing Parks and Gardens
Although you wouldn't tell from the first look, Roppongi is full of parks and gardens that are free of charge. For example, the Mohri Garden in Roppongi Hills is a peaceful Japanese style garden that you can visit to escape the busy city.
The Sakurazaka Park, also located near Roppongi Hills, is a unique robot-themed park that can be enjoyed by both small kids and adults. Finally, the Hinokicho Park inside Tokyo Midtown has a large grassy area perfect for picnics, with artsy playing equipment for small children. It also has a small basketball court, a pond, and a Japanese style garden.

One of the best places to visit if you want to experience Japanese culture is a shrine. The Nogi Shrine, located near Nogizaka Station, is a shrine dedicated to Nogi Maresuke (1849-1912) who was a General in the Imperial Japanese Army. The house that General Nogi and his wife committed ritual suicide after the death of Emperor Meiji still stands inside the shrine.

Enjoy Roppongi's Wonderful Public Art
If you walk around Roppongi, you will notice that there are many works of public art on display. For example, when you enter the central area of Roppongi Hills, you will see a big, black spider welcoming you. This black spider is called "Maman" and was created by the French artist Louise Bourgeois in 2002. This area is a popular meeting spot used by many people visiting Roppongi.
In the same area, you'll also find a tall sculpture of a rose overlooking the city. This artwork, titled "Rose", was made by an artist named Isa Genzken and was brought to Roppongi in 2003. It symbolizes the ideas of love and beauty.
As you walk through Mohri Garden, you will notice a large, golden heart standing inside the pond. This romantic spot is sure worth visiting in the evening.

The Suntory Museum in Tokyo Midtown

Tokyo Tower Observatory
Tokyo Tower, the tall, red building located in Akabanebashi (walking distance from Roppongi) is a famous landmark of Japan. This is now one of the most popular tourist spots in Tokyo. At Tokyo Tower, you can go up to the observatory which is 150 meters above ground for 900 yen.
From the observatory, you can overlook the entire city of Tokyo. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Fuji! For example, at Alife Nishiazabu, the entrance fee for ladies is 1000 yen (if you enter before 23:00) and it includes an all-you-can-drink plan.
