Japan has many beautiful cultures such as Japanese cuisine, sake, traditional crafts, architecture, and others, each with its unique features. Due to issues like commercialization and a shortage of manpower in some regions, traditional Japanese culture is rapidly declining.

Moreover, many Japanese people are unaware of their own traditional culture. MATCHA took as its mission to convey the charm of every region in Japan to people from all around Japan and the world.

About MATCHA's Founding Anniversary

MATCHA Inc. was born on December 3, 2013. The reason for choosing this day is that on the same day in 1888, Japan transitioned from using the old lunar calendar to the Gregorian calendar, marking the country's move towards global standards.

This aligns with what we want to achieve, namely, spreading information about Japan to the world!

MATCHA's Current Status

Our company currently has 15 employees, including three non-Japanese nationals.

Among the Japanese staff, our president and business executives have traveled extensively around the world, and our managers have studied abroad.

Content Editor: Position Details

Job Description

You'll start by planning content and writing and editing articles for the English edition of MATCHA. In the future, you'll take responsibility for growing the media and also handle management duties.

- English content planning, article editing and writing
- SEO analysis for the English edition and improving page views (PV)
- Operation and management of English-language social media (Facebook, Instagram, X)
- Analysis and improvement of affiliate advertising revenue for MATCHA’s English website

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in editing and writing English web articles.
- Experience with SEO analysis, creating SEO articles, and affiliate advertising articles.
- Experience in growing/scaling a web medium (web content platform).
- Team management experience (*number of subordinates is not specified).
- Strong information gathering skills/research ability.
- TOEIC score equivalent to 850 or higher.
- Japanese language ability equivalent to N2 (all internal meetings will be conducted in Japanese).
- Must possess a valid working visa for employment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team with members of diverse nationalities, and a willingness to respect diverse values.
*Note: Currently, we are only hiring non-Japanese nationals for this position.

Welcome Requirements

- Experience in the management/operation of social media platforms.
- Photography skills.
- Experience in managing Google and Meta advertisements.
- Experience working in the tourism sector (including local governments, tourist associations, and regional revitalization teams) and knowledge of the tourism industry.
- Qualification as a Domestic Travel Service Manager (国内旅行業務取扱管理者).

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Standard working hours

8 hours per day

Salary

Annual Salary: 4,000,000 JPY and up
*The salary will be determined based on experience and ability, in accordance with company regulations.
*The amount above includes 45 hours of deemed overtime pay (fixed overtime allowance). Any overtime exceeding 45 hours will be paid separately.

Salary review: Twice a year (June and December)
