KITKAT Mini Yuzu-shu Bijofu - A New Flavor Experience With Yuzu Liqueur

On September 5th, KITKAT Japan introduced the new member to the Japanese Sake Series of KITKAT Japan. After KITKAT Mini Japanese Sake Masuizumi, and KITKAT Mini Umeshu Tsuru-Ume (plum wine), KITKAT Mini Yuzu-shu Bijofu, made with yuzu liqueur, is ready to join the family.

The new invention was born in Kochi prefecture which is the largest producer of yuzu in Japan. Yuzu is a fruit unique to Asia. It is about the size of a lime or a mandarine and usually golden yellow when fully ripe. Flavorwise it tastes like several citrus fruits combined with the tartness of a lemon.

Kochi's sake brewery BIJOFU has paired up with KITKAT to create this new uniquely flavored chocolate. They produce a flavorful yuzu sake which is used in powdered in the Yuzu Sake KITKAT. The two pair exceptionally well together as well!

The chocolate, as well as the cream between the wavers, are yuzu flavored. The cream has a bitterness to it which can also be found in yuzu and pairs well with the creamy white chocolate. KITKAT Mini Yuzu-shu Bijofu offers a unique flavor experience even to a brand as inventive as KITKAT Japan

KITKAT Yuzushu is part of the permanent range and retails for 700 yen plus tax for nine mini KITKATs. It can be found at airports, KITKAT Chocolatories and souvenir shops all over Japan

KITKAT Mini Yuzu-shu Bijofu contains 0.2% of alcohol so it is not suitable for children or people who avoid alcohol.
