oHacorte: Okinawa's Fruit Tart Bakery

If you are in Okinawa, don’t miss the popular fruit-tart specialist, oHacorte. Located in a vintage, artsy building near the monorail, the Izumizaki oHacorte Bakery is a multi-story hub dedicated to food and lifestyle.
The building features a light-meal café on the first floor, the signature fruit-tart shop on the second, and a curated space for furniture and pop-up goods on the third.
What is unique about the café is that it encourages guests to recreate their experience by freely sharing many of its signature recipes.
The Origin Story
The brand began at the Minatogawa Foreigners’ Houses in building #18. The name is a creative portmanteau: "Ohaco" (a Japanese reading of 18 that also signifies a "specialty") combined with the end of "taruto" (tart).
Together, they form oHacorte, representing the shop’s signature craft.
Bread, Dining, and Curated Goods

The Izumizaki oHacorte Bakery features a cozy wood and red-brick interior, with a first floor offering French toast, savory dishes, and a dedicated counter for fresh bread and light meals.
Alongside its popular variety of artisanal breads, the shop also features a curated selection of imported goods, high-quality fruits, and gourmet food items.

They offer a wide variety of breads, and many locals come specifically to buy them.
Signature Breakfast Favorites at oHacorte Bakery

Toast, scrambled eggs, sausage platter
This deceptively simple breakfast features premium ingredients, including a smoky hot dog, fluffy scrambled eggs, and fresh salad served alongside toast that is perfectly crisp on the outside and soft within.

French toast, egg, bacon
For a sweeter alternative, the French toast is pan-fried until tender, offering a rich buttery aroma that pairs beautifully with savory bacon and a soft-cooked egg for a truly blissful meal.
The Second Floor: Tea, Sweets, and Gifts

Upstairs from the bread counter, the second floor offers a serene and elegant atmosphere perfect for afternoon tea.

In addition to the café area, the shop displays a variety of takeaway treats—including lemon tarts and cookies—presented in beautifully designed packaging that makes for a stunning gift.

Sunlight fills the cozy, library-like space, which features comfortable sofa seating, two-person tables, and shelves lined with books.
oHakorte's Fruit Tarts: A Taste of Okinawa in Every Bite

oHacorte’s fruit tarts showcase the flavors of the island by using exclusively Okinawa-grown ingredients. Each tart features juicy, translucent fruit piled high atop a signature 7-cm shell—a size specifically chosen to create the perfect fruit-to-crust ratio.

To ensure they stay crisp until the very last bite, the shells are baked three to four times, with the process carefully adjusted based on the moisture of the fruit. These vibrant, jewel-like treats are as beautiful to look at as they are tempting to eat.

Fruit tarts are also available for takeaway.
Guided by the philosophy that a dessert should bring happiness to both the giver and the recipient, the shop spares no expense on its premium packaging and box design, ensuring the presentation is as exceptional as the taste.
Izumizaki Branch Exclusive: Seasonal Fruit Parfaits

Every spoonful of this treat remains delicious to the very end!
