What to Do if You Have a Problem on Your Trip

Problems

You may come across problems while traveling in Japan. If you lose your passport, are involved in an incident, suffer in an accident, or are in an area when a major natural disaster such as an earthquake happens, you’ll suddenly have problems to deal with.

At times like these, your country's embassy will help you. The embassies in Japan provide support and help resolve problems for their citizens.

We’ve compiled a list of the contact information for each embassy in Tokyo. We highly suggest checking your embassy's information before your trip so you’ll be ready for any unforeseen problems.

Contact Information for Each Embassy

Embassies are open Monday through Friday, on weekdays. They are closed on weekends as well as national holidays in Japan, in addition to their own country’s national holidays. In addition, the embassies may have multiple addresses, in the event that the embassy and consulate are in separate buildings. This list is a compilation of the main number for each embassy, so please check the embassy homepage for more information.
