On this tour, we will take you to Nada, Japan's best sake region, and visit 2-3 sake breweries of your choice. Nada sake is also called "Otokozake" (male sake), and is characterized by a slightly sour, dry taste. Nada is also the number one region in Japan in terms of both production and sales of sake. From smooth Daiginjo to rich Junmai sake, you can enjoy the finest sake at sake breweries with centuries of history. Learning about the craftsmanship and passion that goes into each sake will enhance its deliciousness. Let's go on a tour to enjoy Japan's best sake, produced in this blessed terrain. Cheers to a fun and flavorful experience!
After the meet, we will take a taxi to Nada sake shop.
We will select 2-3 of Nada's major sake breweries to visit.
1. Hakutsuru Sake Brewery: Founded in 1743, this long-established sake brewery has been brewing for over 270 years. Its slogan is "Sending familiarity through time," and it is known throughout the country for its distinctive, full-bodied, crisp, and refreshing flavor. It has fascinated many people as a sake that accompanies their daily meals, but recently, the sake made with their original sake rice, Hakutsuru Nishiki, has been gaining attention.
②Kiku Masamune Sake Brewery: The museum has a theme of learning about the origins of sake brewing, and visitors can see exhibits such as the "Nada sake brewing equipment" that is a nationally designated important tangible folk cultural property, and the throne that Emperor Showa once sat on. At the Kiku Masamune Sake Barrel Meister Factory next to the museum, visitors can also see how the wooden barrels used for barrel sake are made.
3. Sakura Masamune: Characterized by a gentle taste and a clean aftertaste. Founded in 1625, Sakura Masamune's history spans nearly 400 years, and it is the history of the Yamamura family itself. It is made entirely from Yamada Nishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture and local groundwater. In terms of quality, all of the sake is "homebrewed," and the entire process from rice to sake is managed by the family themselves.
④ Hamafukutsuru Sake Brewery: You can observe the sake brewing process through glass. You can see the actual work area, smell the aroma of the mash, and experience real sake brewing. You can also enjoy tasting unpasteurized sake and sake tasting (fees apply).
⑤ Kobe Shushinkan, the brewer of the white sake Fukuju, was founded in 1751 during the mid-Edo period. They still brew sake by hand using local rice from Hyogo Prefecture and Miyamizu, one of the 100 best waters in Japan. Fukujugura offers tours of the brewery throughout the year (except December) (reservations required). You will be given an easy-to-understand explanation of the history of the Nada Gogo region and the sake brewing process. After the tour, you can enjoy tastings of "freshly squeezed" sake and pure rice sake.
The end location of the tour can be changed. Please consult with your guide.
