Let’s Try Ready-Made Curry At The Curry Embassy In Kuramae!
Curry rice is one of Japan’s most beloved foods. Various ingredients are used in each prefecture and locally produced curries are sold in retort packs. There are over 100 kinds of ready-made curry from all over Japan sold at the Curry Embassy!
Let’s Try the Curry Buffet
The shop serves curry, rice, vegetables, and drinks that can be eaten buffet-style. We’ll introduce how to order the buffet.
The Buffet Begins After Paying at the Register
First, pay the buffet fee at the register. Lunch is 1000 yen and dinner is 1800 yen with tax.
After taking a plate, the buffet begins with rice. The rice is a domestically produced Kokushimai black rice blend that has abundant dietary fiber and minerals, making it a great nutritious option. The buffet is self-serve.
Next, serve up the curry sauce. This time, the Moyan curry (Japanese), which is slightly acidic and spicy, was prepared. Although there were bite-sized pieces of pork scattered throughout the curry, it was cooked to such tenderness that they could be cut and eaten with a spoon. The curry sauce also does not use any wheat flour and is gluten free.
This is the shop’s original Embassy Curry. It is made with lots of vegetables, fruits, and spices. You can enjoy the change in flavors as the sweet taste of apples spreads in your mouth after one bite before the flavors of the spices come through.
You can eat three types of curries at the buffet; you can either choose from one of the three or choose all of them. The curry types are periodically changed so that the flavors do not overlap. You may be able to experience several types of curries when you visit at the end of a period before the flavors are changed.
Eight Types of All-You-Can-Eat Vegetable Toppings!
Next, choose your favorite vegetables. There is a total of eight vegetables to choose from that periodically change, aside from soy sauce pickled vegetables, cabbages, and tomatoes which are part of the regular menu.
It is also completely fine to get a second plate to separate the vegetables from your curry. However, the rule at the Curry Embassy is to only take what you can eat and to not let any food you've taken go to waste.
Getting a Drink From the Drink Bar
Lastly, choose your favorite drink from the drink bar. There are over 10 kinds of drinks from coffee on the café menu to juice. Once you finish going through the buffet, all that’s left is to eat and enjoy your meal!
