Access to JR Kurayoshi and Yonago Stations from Tottori Station
Trains cover most areas in Tottori prefecture. So the JR line is the best means of transportation between Tottori city, Kurayoshi, Yonago and Sakaiminato.
From JR Tottori Station to Kurayoshi Station, it takes about thirty minutes via the Limited Express Super Oki or Super Matsukaze, and the fare is 1740 yen. By using the Tottori Liner, it takes about an hour, and the fare is 670 yen.
From JR Tottori Station to Yonago Station, it takes about an hour on the Limited Express Super Oki, and the fare is 3160 yen. By using the Tottori Liner, it takes about an hour and forty minutes, and the fare is 1660 yen.
From JR Yonago Station to Sakaiminato Station, it takes about 45 minutes using the local line, and the fare is 320 yen.
When using the JR lines, be sure to check out the Japan Rail Pass to get a special discount service.
** The Japan Rail Pass (valid for seven days) is 33,000 yen, the Sa'nin Okayama Area Pass (valid for four days) is 5000 yen, and the Sanyo Sa'nin Area Pass (valid for 7 days) is 20,000 yen.
** The Japan Rail Pass cannot be used on the Super Hakuto and Super Inaba Limited Express on a certain section of the Chizu Express Line (from Kamigori Station in Hyogo prefecture to Chizu Station in Tottori prefecture). In this section the JR West Rail Pass (Kansai WIDE Area Pass) can be used.

If you plan to move around the areas of Tottori city and Yonago, using the bus is the convenient choice. Please note that some of the services are limited, so check the timetables in advance.
Three Day Wooden Bus Ticket: A Free Pass Covering the Tottori Prefecture
If you plan to use buses in Tottori Prefecture, try the Three Day Wooden Bus Ticket (Tottori-Han Noriai Bus Norihodai Tegata).
This ticket, valid for three days, allows the user to ride most buses in the prefecture, excluding the express bus. It also comes with discount services at the sightseeing spots. The price is 1800 yen.
The Wooden Bus Ticket can be purchased at the bus terminal and information center of JR Tottori, Kurayoshi and Yonago Stations.
Kirinjishi Bus (Tottori City)
Kirinjishi Bus, a Tottori city loop bus connecting the sightseeing spots, runs on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. It also runs every day in August. The fare for one day is 600 yen, and the Three Day Wooden Bus Ticket is also valid on this bus.
Dandan Bus and Donguri Korokoro Bus (Yonago City)
The loop bus Dandan Bus and Donguri Korokoro Bus serves the Yonago area. The fare is 150 yen per ride. The Wooden Bus Ticket can also be used on both buses.
Daisen Loop Bus (Yonago and Daisen)

Daisen Loop Bus runs a circular route connecting Yonago and the sightseeing spots in the Daisen area. From late April to early May, late July through August, and from late October to early November, the bus runs everyday.
Special Taxi Services in the Tottori City Area
2000 Yen Taxi: Ride Around Tottori City for Three Hours
Tottori City offers a special 2000 yen taxi service limited to visitors from abroad, which allows them to ride a taxi up to three hours for 2000 yen/person.
To use this service, visit the Tottori City International Tourist Support Center, located near the north exit of JR Tottori Station. The staff members speak English, Korean and Chinese, so you can also ask about sightseeing as well.

Kanta-kun Tottori: Tour the Main Sightseeing Spots Around Tottori City
JR Tottori Station Travel Service Center (Midori no Madoguchi) offers a reserved taxi service called Kanta-kun Tottori, which allows the visitors to tour the main sightseeing spots in the area.
The fare for a tour course including Tottori Sand Dunes and Fish Market is 5780 yen, and a course including San'in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark is 8670 yen. The Travel Service Center offers services only in Japanese, but those who can speak the language should give it a try.
Rental Car Discounts at Tottori Sakyu Conan Airport and Yonago Kitaro Airport
A rental car comes in handy in case of visiting sightseeing spots away from the urban areas.
Tottori Prefecture is offering a rental car discount of 3000 yen per car, to visitors from abroad using the Tottori Sakyu Conan Airport or Yonago Kitaro Airport. The offer is valid until the end of March 2018.
