Did you know there’s a shopping area on the first-floor basement of Tokyo Station just for commuters to enjoy? It is a grand in-station commercial facility named GRANSTA and is an ideal start for your travels.
This is an area with delicious lunch boxes, precooked dishes, and souvenirs gathered in one place. It is the perfect place to purchase your Tokyo souvenirs.
We immediately visited GRANSTA upon hearing that a new area had opened on April 27th, 2017!
What is GRANSTA? What is the New Area?

GRANSTA is a commercial facility located on the first-floor basement level of Tokyo Station. You will arrive at the facility immediately upon exiting the train on the first-floor basement level at Tokyo Station.
The facility is separated into two areas with the larger GRANSTA located within the ticket gates and GRANSTA MARUNOUCHI located outside the ticket gates. The facility was renovated in the spring of 2017 with five new stores inside and sixteen new stores outside the ticket gates. There are also plenty of shops with Japan and Tokyo-related products!

Let’s Look For the Best Souvenirs in the New Area!
GRANSTA MARUNOUCHI is located on the station premises, so you can enjoy last-minute shopping in between transfers or purchase souvenirs you may have forgotten. Here are some of our recommended brands and products.
Biople by CosmeKitchen: Rich in Organic and Natural Products
Here is the Oisesan series that was made at Ise Grand Shrine in Ise, Mie (370 yen before tax). Other products include natural bathing powders (432 yen with tax) with “purification of the mind and body” as its theme, so you can expect to feel very relaxed after using their products. They are also charming products thanks to their Japanese-style packaging.
AWATAMA Onion Soup (756 yen with tax) does not contain any artificial food coloring, preservatives, or MSG and is an easy-to-digest soup. Its box packaging features a drawing of Tokyo Station which is a design only available at this location.
“I forgot my skincare products!” In that case, we recommend the mini size products from the Japan-made cosmetic brand F-organics. Facial toners, moisturizers, and face masks are also sold for 864 yen with tax.
ekissora: Let’s Make Memorable Leather Goods
Here is a collection of tasteful leather goods with an emphasis on being Made in Japan. You can also make your own original goods in the leather color of your choice.
The shop is full of items from basic goods such as key cases (1620 yen with tax) or iPhone cases (5400 yen with tax) to innovative goods such as mint cases (1836 yen with tax). You can also have the shop engrave a seal into your goods to create your commemorative items.
TRAVELER’S FACTORY STATION: Exciting Travel Goods
This shop features a collection of stationery goods and completely customizable traveler’s notebooks. Several limited-edition products are offered with the concept of being “tools for a more exciting train journey that begins from Tokyo Station.”
A traveler’s notebook (4536 yen with tax) decorated with an imaginary train as well as pouches (496 yen with tax) are some of the products that can be used immediately for your trip.
The Tokyo Station-only box filled with coffee candies (540 yen with tax) can even be used as a stylish accessory case once all the candies have been eaten!

The wine has a very refreshing flavor that is just like its “run like the wind” image. The wine can also be purchased by the bottle (2700 yen with tax).

GRANSTA has also prepared convenient facilities for travelers. Station Concierge Tokyo is located on station premises and contains not only station information, but also information on city events and regional tourism guides. English speaking staff are available so that you can use their services with ease.
A foreign currency exchange office and a room for baggage check (fees charged) are also available so that customers can freely enjoy their time shopping.
