An art object installed in 1987 celebrating 120 years since the opening of the Port of Kobe. The carp-shaped object is 22 meters tall.

It was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry and supervised by Japanese architect Tadao Ando.

Bell of Hortensia

An object established in 1989 celebrating the first Kobe Fashion Festival. Hortensia refers to Kobe's city flower, the hydrangea. The structure was created by Nakashima Propeller, a screw propeller manufacturer.

Nearby, you will find Starbucks Coffee Kobe Meriken Park, one of the largest Starbucks shops in west Japan.

The museum has exhibitions related to ships from around the world, such as gondolas of Venice, and a model of the British warship Rodney, which entered the Port of Kobe in the 19th century. Right nearby, you'll also find Kawasaki World, a corporate museum of Kobe-born Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

The Motorcycle Gallery with its displays of various Kawasaki racing bikes is also worth a visit.

An observatory from which visitors can enjoy a view of the Port of Kobe and the city. It has a unique shape like a thin tsuzumi (Japanese hand drum).
