How to Navigate Osaka Station

Osaka Station

Osaka Station is a major terminal in the Kansai region, and plays an important role in business and tourism.

There are various commercial facilities and sightseeing spots near the station, making the area attractive to tourists. With Umeda Station (Osaka Metro Midosuji Line) and Osaka Umeda Station (Hanshin Electric Railway and Hankyu Railway) located nearby, it is also easy to change trains.

This article introduces the six exits of Osaka Station, along with the locations of coin-operated lockers. Be sure to check the nearest exit to your destination, or the exit with the easiest access to other stations.

1. South Central Exit: Daimaru Umeda/Osaka Umeda Station (Hanshin Electric Railway)

After going through the Central Gate on the first floor, turn right, and you will arrive at South Central Exit.

The exit leads to the south side of Osaka Station, where facilities such as Daimaru Umeda, Hotel Granvia Osaka, and Hanshin Umeda are located.

The Travel Service Center Osaka is located near the ticket gate. Don't hesitate to ask if you need any assistance.

Entreé Marché Osaka and JR Osaka Station Central Gate Store of 551 Horai, both perfect for purchasing Osaka souvenirs, are located along the concourse from the ticket gate to the exit.

Lockers Near South Central Exit

Coin-Operated Lockers

Coin-operated lockers near Travel Service Center Osaka.

Seven coin-operated locker spots are on the first floor, where South Central Exit is located, outside the ticket gate.

There are two ways to check for vacancies. Take a look at the ICOCA locker information (shown in the photograph above). Alternatively, you can access the Locker Concierge website from your smartphone.

The spot behind the Travel Service Center Osaka, shown in the photograph, offers a wide variety of lockers (L-size: 160/M-size: 163/S-size: 130). Please note that these lockers are often occupied. We recommend trying the spot near Hotel Granvia Osaka (L: 45/M: 55/S: 12), which tends to be available.

2. Sakurabashi Exit: Kitte Osaka/Osaka Umeda Station (Hanshin Electric Railway)

Sakurabashi Exit on the first floor is accessible by turning right after going through the Sakurabashi Gate.

It is located on the west side of Osaka Station. Herbis Plaza Ent, which houses a taxi stand and a limousine bus terminal serving vehicles headed for Kansai/Itami airports, and Kitte Osaka, which is scheduled to open in July 2024, are located nearby.

Lockers Near Sakurabashi Exit

There are four locker spots located near Sakurabashi Exit.

The spot by Sakurabashi Gate (L: 19/M: 35/S: 24) is easy to find. Another spot near the taxi stand (L: 60/M: 60/S: 72) can also be found easily.

3. Midosuji North Exit: Yodobashi Camera/Osaka Umeda Station (Hankyu Railway)

Midosuji North Exit, on the first floor, is located near Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Umeda and Osaka Umeda Station of Hankyu Railway.

This exit can be reached by turning left after going through Midosuji Gate.

There are two locker spots near Midosuji North Exit, outside the ticket gate.

One is at the Lucua entrance (L: 50/M: 60/S: 25), and the other is by the stairs (M: 52/S: 15).

4. Midosuji South Exit: HEP Five/Umeda Station (Midosuji Line)

Midosuji South Exit on the first floor is close to the Osaka City Bus terminal and Umeda Station along the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. It is also close to facilities such as Hankyu Umeda, and HEP Five, which is famous for its Ferris wheel.

There are two routes for this exit. One is to go through Midosuji Gate and turn right.

The other is turning left after going through the South Gate.

The distance is about the same. There will be no problems whichever route you choose.

There is one locker spot near Midosuji South Exit, outside the ticket gate (L: 33/M: 62/S: 12).

The lockers are located near the Osaka City Bus terminal, making them can easy to be found.

5. North Central Exit: Umeda Sky Building/Grand Front Osaka

North Central Exit on the second floor is close to Grand Front Osaka and Umeda Sky Building.

As there are no ticket gates on the second floor, passengers will have to head for the Central Gate on the first floor.

Turn left after going through the Central Gate on the first floor.

From the ticket gate, turn left, and take the escalator in the Akatsuki Plaza to the second floor.

Head to 2F

Take the escalator to the second floor.

The North Central Exit will be at the top of the escalator.

There are no lockers nearby, so look for them on the first or the third floor.

6. Renrakubashi Exit: Lucua Osaka/Daimaru Umeda

Renrakubashi Exit is close to the Renrakubashi Gate, the only ticket gate on the third floor.

South Central Exit (first floor) and South Gate Building are located to the left of the gate, and North Central Exit (second floor) and North Gate Building to the right. Visitors can directly enter commercial facilities from the station.

Lockers at Renrakubashi Exit

There is one locker spot by the Lucua entrance (L: 63/M: 62/S: 44).

Go through the ticket gate on the third floor, and head for the North Gate Building on the right side. Turn right at the building, and the lockers, along with the Lucua entrance, will come into view.

Navigate Inside Osaka Station

With knowledge of each exit, visitors can reach their destinations or switch trains more easily.

Additionally, they can move around with minimum baggages by checking the location of the coin-operated lockers in advance.
