1. Sensoji Temple

Sensoji Temple was founded in 628 AD and is the oldest temple in Tokyo, boasting nearly 1,400 years of history.
As a signature tourist spot in Asakusa, it attracts over 30 million visitors each year. This historic temple was also revered by prominent figures such as Minamoto no Yoritomo and Tokugawa Ieyasu.
It is said that bathing in the smoke rising from the incense burner (jokoro) in front of the main hall brings good health.
The main hall, five-story pagoda, and Kaminarimon Gate are illuminated from sunset until around 11 PM, creating a romantic atmosphere as Senso-ji Temple glows in the light.
Additionally, the approximately 250-meter shopping Nakamise Shopping Street, which stretches from Kaminarimon, is also a highlight. About 90 shops line the street, offering sweets, snacks, and souvenirs, perfect for a food stroll!

2. Hanayashiki Amusement Park

Hanayashiki Amusement Park opened in 1853 during the late Edo period (1603-1863), making it Japan's oldest amusement park with a history of over 170 years.

3. Imado Shrine

Imado Shrine is famous for its matchmaking blessings.
The shrine is dedicated to Izanagi and Izanami, considered the first married couple in Japan. These two deities are known as the deities of marriage, making this the perfect power spot for couples to visit.
The shrine is also recognized as the birthplace of the lucky cat (Maneki-neko). Hence, why many beckoning cats can be seen throughout the grounds.

4. Asakusa Engei Hall

Opened in 1964, Asakusa Engei Hall hosts a variety of performances daily, including rakugo (Japanese verbal entertainment), manzai (stand-up comedy), and magic shows.
Its predecessor, the Asakusa France-za Engeijo (Toyokan Theatre), was a comedy mecca in Asakusa that produced renowned talents such as Kinnosuke Nakamura and Takeshi Kitano.
