TRAINIART TOKYO - Find Great Train Souvenirs At Tokyo Station Gransta
TRAINIART TOKYO, which handles Japanese train-related items, has opened a new shop at Gransta, a shopping mall inside Tokyo Station where you can shop inside the ticket gates.
A Souvenir Shop Inside the Ticket Gates
TRAINIART TOKYO started under the concept of having fun with trains, and handles train-related items. After opening shops at Atre Akihabara 1 and Tokyo Station Gallery, a third shop opened at Gransta in Tokyo Station.
Visitors can browse the shop, which is located inside the ticket gates, and look for charming train-related items. This article is about some of the unique items related to Tokyo Station available at this shop.
A Transparent File Holder and iPhone Cover featuring the Suica Penguin
JR East issues Suica, an IC card. This shop handles items such as a transparent file holder (248 yen with tax), iPhone case (2570 yen with tax) and the IC card case (1728 yen with tax) that holds two cards, all featuring the mascot of the IC card, the Suica Penguin. This adorable penguin has become a popular character in Japan.

A Snow Globe with Buildings of Tokyo
The shop also handles snow globes with the major buildings such as the Tokyo Station and Tokyo Skytree packed inside. Hayabusa, the shinkansen that connects Tokyo Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, looks like it's climbing up into the sky.
A Rollbahn Notebook Featuring the Marunochi Station Building
This is a notebook with the Marunouchi Station Building featured on its cover made by Rollbahn, a Japanese stationery company. It is a simple, functional item with a transparent pocket inside.
A Tenugui with the Tokyo Station Motif
Nijiyura, a Japanese tenugui (*1) manufacturer, made this adorable towel with the colorful patterns behind the station building. It is perfect for a souvenir. The fabric is light pink in color, so it has a flamboyant touch as well.
*1 Tenugui: A Japanese cloth that has been used in various ways. It can be used as a towel, or as a sunscreen by covering one's head.
Drinks Featuring Tokyo
TRAINIART TOKYO handles also wine (1550 yen with tax) made by Round Hill and lager beer (570 yen with tax), both with the word Tokyo on its label.
They also have shinkansen-shaped bottles of mineral water (379 yen with tax), which makes a unique souvenir.
Postcards of JR Trains and Shinkansen
These postcards are dynamically designed in the shapes of JR East trains (379 yen per card, with tax) and various shinkansen (388 yen per card, with tax).
You can send them to your friends along with a message, or use them to decorate your room, both are great ways to remember your trip to Tokyo.
Items with Route Map Motifs
The handkerchief (1080 yen with tax) and transparent file holder (432 yen with tax) with the complex Tokyo-area train route map comes in Japanese and English versions. It might be fun to look for the stations you've visited.
