Showa is the era before the present one in Japan, which lasted from December 25th, 1926 to January 7th, 1989. April 29th is the birthday of the Emperor Showa who was the Emperor of Japan during this time period.
On this day, Showa Memorial Park in Tachikawa City and Shinjuku Gyoen in Shinjuku Ward are free of charge.
