Ruby chocolate is the fourth type of chocolate ever introduced to the world and the first new kind since the introduction of white chocolate 80 years ago. The color of the chocolate is a bright pink and the taste is creamy, smooth, tart and fruity.

Although the taste is reminiscent of berries, no berries, berry flavor or color have been added. This special new flavor is derived from the ruby cocoa bean in a special process to enhance the unique flavor and look.

This new kind of chocolate was first discovered and created by the Belgian chocolate maker Barry Callebaut and first introduced to the public in 2017. However, it was not available to the public until KitKat introduced their KitKat Chocolatory Sublime Ruby in 2018.
